The lens has a 150-400mm range (300-800mm in 35mm format) but the fascinating thing about this lens is that it is equipped with a built-in 1.25x teleconverter. This boosts the range to 187.5-500mm or 375-1000mm in full-frame format. This is an incredible feature that opens up doors for any photographer who needs that extra range without having to attach a separate teleconverter. The grip also offers the same horizontal controls but in a vertical position, providing the flexibility to switch orientation and still capture images with precision. Two BXL-1 batteries can be used at once, one in the camera and a second in the grip. This offers up to 1,000 shots without needing to switch batteries.
